            <p>If you are an adsense spammer you will take heart from the fact that some google adsense/adwords staff wouldn't recognize spam if you hit them on the head with it.</p>
            <p>Recently <a href="http://www.radinks.com">we</a> found that the number of clicks reported in the google adwords reporting area for the content network and the number of entries in our log file for pagead2.googlesyndication.com did not tally. Further investigations revealed a large number of entries from a certain website. On visiting their site our ad was being shown. We do not wish to advertise on this site and promptly added it to the site filters for all our campaigns.</p>
            <p>The ads continued to be diaplayed on that site and we continue to get clicks from that site. So I decided to contact google and tell them about it. We recieved a canned response about how we should add the site to our filters!! Naturally I was annoyed and retorted that this has already been done. The same moron then replied that we should add the site to all our campaigns.</p>
            <p>That message can be excused since this particular googl employee is so obviously a moron. What cannot be excused is this statement:</p>

            <p>Still on the topic of <a href="914.html">important software releases</a>; Wordpress 2.0 came and went and I missed it. Finaly had a chance to download and try out <a href="https://www.wordpress.org">wordpress 2.01</a>. Just like the previous version wordpress 2.01 is really a piece of cake to install. It really does take only five minutes, and it really is time to say bye bye to movabletype and go for wordpress to power this blog.</p>
            <p>Visited <a href="https://mozilla.org">mozilla.org</a> (cause I can't remember the name of the new firefox site), there I found a product called seamonkey. Curiosity aroused by the unique name, I immidiately downloaded installed it. First reaction is a double take. is that Netscape with a logo change? it probably is. Since netscape 8 is not available for linux (yeah dumb), this certainly does look like a good move.</p>
            <p>In the midst of all this I had to download and install the latest version of <a href="http://proguard.sourceforge.net">Proguard</a> as well. More on that later.</p>

            <p>The domino effect from the <a href="916.html">DriveReady SeekComplete Error</a> continues. First I had to repartition the two 'good' hard drives and make some space to move the stuff from the dud hard disk onto them. Then several CDs backups were also made. This was followed by upgrading the kernel, which naturally resulted in having to <a href="917.html">upgrade the Qemu Installation</a> as well..</p>
            <p>It cannot however be said that all went well. Qemu networking with tun/tap has stopped dead in it's tracks, for no apparent reason. <a href="723.html">The last time</a>, I installed tun/tap, I only just managed to get to working, that too with a of groping in the dark. Google is as usefull as ever when you run into problems; all the solutions appear to be inapplicable in my situation.</p>
            <p>It seems that <a href="http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/qemu/">Qemu</a> is not executing the /etc/qemu-ifup script at all - if it's being executed it's failing silently (which shouldn't happen). Running the script manually gives the following error:</p>

Qemu and Tun/Tap mystery

            <p>I obviously have a <a href="916.html">faulty hard</a> disk on my hands, the log files say this is a kernel bug, reiserfs faq says it's a hardware fault. The latter is most definitely the case, but hope springs eternal in the human heart so it's tempting to upgrade the kernel and hope it will go away. Well it did go away after an fsck but that doesn't mean the bad sectors have gone away.</p>
            <p>One thing leads to another, having upgraded the kernel, the Qemu accelerator no longer works. So it's time to recompile the qemu. Last time I had a few problems with that, but <a href="790.html">I blogged about it</a> so this times all the trouble could be avoided simply by reading up the old posts.</p>
            <p>Then I learn that there is a new version of Darwin available. I <a href="http://raditha/blog/archives/579.html">tried opendarwin</a> about one and a half years ago (and that was installed with pear PC but not qemu). Interestingly enough, pearPC, which I thought had been abandoned has seen the release of a new version. With apple opting to go with Intels instead of powerPC chips for the new Macs, the days of PearPC will sadly be numbered.</p>
            <p>Getting back to <a href="https://developer.apple.com/darwin/">Darwin</a>; Not being a mac expert, I cannot really tell the difference between Darwin and <a href="http://opendarwin.org/">Open Darwin</a> but decided to try my hand at Darwin 8.01. The most recent version is 8.4, but an installation CD is not available. Thought to install with Qemu first up to avoid a reboot.</p>

            <p>All of a sudden I noticed that my computer is running slower than normal. Compiling java code seemed particularly slow. I immediately suspected the hard disk, I get at least <a href="000840.html">one disk crash per year</a> just it's about time for one. Sure enough the /var/log/messages says:</p>
